CULTURE,Online registration system will enable officials in the ministry in charge
of registering the clubs to register new sporting clubs within Kenya, clients
who are the clubs representatives verifying their details, as well as deleting
and updating the clubs records. As new clubs are formed on a daily basis,the
population in the ministry keeps on growing, the number of clients keep
multiplying, as a result, the number of clients who goes to the ministry to
register their clubs also increases proportionally. Therefore, manual
management or file based system has become tedious in the SPORTS,CULTURE AND
YOUTH AFFAIRS ministry environment. Nevertheless, this system will help to
transfer the filling system to database management system. Online sports club
registration system will help in the storage and management of large number of
sports clubs records. This system is
more efficient, time conscious and safe.

registration system aims at solving problems involved in making long queues,
human errors and easy retrieval of data. It ensures that a club can register
for a certificate and obtain it upon printing. It enables the club(s) to renew
its certificate online.

1.1.1 Historical background
Football (or soccer as the game is
called in some parts of the world) has a long history.Football in its current
form arose in England in the middle of the 19th century.But

that the game was developed In England in the 12th century.In this
century games that resembled football were played on meadoows and roads in
England.Besides from kicks,the game involved also punches of the ball with the
fist.It took, however,long time until the features of todays’s football had
been taken into practice.For a long time there was no clear distinction between
football and rugby.Tere were also many variations concerning the size of the
ball,the number of players and the lengh of a match
Proper rules for the game were decided
at a meeting in Cambridge in 1848.Another important event in the history of
football came about in 1863 when the first football association was formed in
England.This also led to a standardization of the size and weight of the
ball,and also divided the game into two codes:association football and rugby
Football clubs have existed since 15th
century,but unorganized and without official status.It is therefore hard to
decide which the first football club was. Some historians suggest that it was
the Foot-Ball Club formed 1824 in Edinburgh. Earlier clubs were often formed by
former school students and the first of this kind was formed in Sheffield in
1855. The oldest among professional football clubs is the English Notts County
that was formed in 1862 and still exists today.An important step for the
emergence of teams was the industrialization that led to larger groups of
people meeting at places such as factories,pubs,churches, In bigger cities
football teams were established and the new railroads could bring them to other

The current system that is adopted in
the ministry of SPORTS,YOUTH AND CULTURE, takes a lot of time when it comes to
the registration of these clubs. The system is automated but it still needs
some paperwork like physical signature of the authorizing personnel like the
district officer of the region through which this particular club is formed,
therefore if the district officer is not there then there will be no
registration taking place hence taking more time to complete the registration.
Also the scope of the registration for the current system is large hence we
need to make it as brief as possible. The cost of this current system is costly
when we consider travelling of the client to the central offices for

papers and ink by hand so it is much costly and difficult to use and to operate
and it is also time consuming.
So the automated computerized online clubs registration is much
feasible, in cost, time, and efforts as compare to the previous manual system.
v It is economically feasible-it will only require a single
operator to operate the system, who is responsible for entering the data into
the database via a user interface provided to him, who can also be able to show
all the data in html tabular form so as to provide information regarding the
clients who have either taken registration or to take the registration, since
it requires only a single person to operate the whole system thus reduces the
cost to operate the system.
v It is technically feasible- since the whole system will be
based on the latest technologies like php and MySQL Server which are the most
recent technologies to develop web based systems and design databases.
v It is Behavioral feasible-since the system is providing an
attractive user interface to the operator/end user, so he feels very easy to
work onto it. Response to operator/end user is very fast and very good.
As it is always the case, anything that has got the
advantages tied to it doesn’t lack disadvantages even if it’s one or two. My
proposed system will have many advantages to the ministry of sports,youth and
culture though it will have some disadvantages.
My proposed system will be much easier to be
accessed by the clients who have little knowledge in computer and it will
provide much functionality to the ministry for them carry out day to day
activities without much struggle.
By developing the system the following facilities can be obtained:
Easy to handle and feasible.
Fast and convenient.
Increased interaction of
clients and their customers with the county management.
Attractive User Interface
It is automated computerized
web based software system.
ü It uses latest technologies i.e. MySQL Server.

employed personnel in order for them to familiarize with the new implemented
system. This will cost the county some resources in order to equip their
employees with necessary skills i.e. system support.
2.0 LITERATURE REVIEW

The various management information systems from
the review of the related work provides solution to Ministry with a very wide
population of residents all over the country who were applying for various
service every day-to-day and does not suit the current situation in the country
due to manual paper work which slows down the process thus wastes lots of time.
The proposed online
group registration system will be developed to suit the specific needs of the
country residents thus providing unique features to facilitate operations of
the ministry of gender and social welfare.
The system will be limited to users
who have internet access and devices that are able to access internet otherwise
one won’t be able to access the service of registering their group online.
